Through Vincent’s Eyes: Van Gogh and His Sources

This special exhibit at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art highlights 20 works of Van Gogh himself, as well as 75 additional objects that have been selected to reflect the art he admired and that inspired him. The exhibit opens on February 27 and continues through May 22, 2022. Included are first edition copies of works of Charles Dickens, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Leonid Tolstoy, and Edgar Allan Poe, who would have also incited Van Gogh’s imagination.

The Santa Barbara Symphony has collaborated with the Museum of Art for its March performances on the 19th and 20th. The program features organ numbers with the same level of auditory reaction as the Van Gogh visuals.
